The artist book "Levitikus" contains 12 original graphics, created by Hermann Nitsch. The atelier of Har-El in Jaffa has produced these editions in silkscreen and terragraph technique. "Levitikus" is printed on Coventry rag paper 400gm, dimensions 135 x 90 cm. Hebrew text in Frank Ruehl font and German text in Minion font, in Martin Luther Version. The book is in a limited edition of 16, numbered 1/16-16/16; A.P.s numbered I/III-III/III; 2 H.C.; 1 P.P. All images are signed by the artist and bound in linen, June 2010.

Das Künstlerbuch 'Levitikus' enthält zwölf Originalgraphiken von Herman Nitsch. Die Edition wurde vom Atelier Har-El in Jaffa im Siebdruck und Terragraphverfahren , in Kooperation mit Nissim Ben Nun, Orly Spinzi, Eli..., Yehuda... und Liat Kringel, geschaffen.

Biography (b.1938)

Born in Vienna, Hermann Nitsch is an Austrian artist who works in experimental and multimedia modes. Nitsch received training in painting during the time he studied at the Wiener Graphische Lehr-und Versuchanstalt.

He is called an "actionist" or a performance artist. He is associated with the Vienna Actionists, and like them conceived his art outside traditional categories of genre. Nitsch's abstract splatter paintings, like his performance pieces, established a theme of controlled violence, using bright reds, maroons, and pale grays that communicate organic mutilation.
