MOSHE GERSHUNI - TIME OF HEAVENLY MERCY 

The current exhibition by Moshe Gershuni ‘Time of Heavenly Mercy’ in Gallery Har-El presents a comprehensive show of printed limited editions. In his prints he permitted himself to make experiments which paved the way for his original paintings using techniques and media which had not yet been used in the field of fine art prints. For example, he printed silkscreen on hot tar and sand; or he printed on wet paper, whereby creating an intense black color that becomes immersed in the paper. In his monoprints the artist used plates that enabled him to randomly attack the surface and allowed the inks to spread beyond the plates. In this series of works Gershuni challenged all traditional printmaking techniques.
